Cardi B set the record straight about a rumor that Eminem rejected her request to be featured on a record for her upcoming sophomore album.
The rumor began spreading via Twitter on Thursday when an insider report claimed Slim Shady shut her down because “she doesn’t care about the culture or her craft.” But the “Up” artist shut down the shady report and shared her admiration for the fellow rapper.
“BIG LIES….I get off the internet and ya makin sh– up,” she wrote. “I haven’t sent no songs to no artist yet. Love his work and much respect. This don’t even make sense.”
The 28-year-old MC has been riding high after “Up” climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week (dated March 27). She took to Instagram to debunk more rumors that she had paid for radio play to top the tally. “They love to run with that ‘Payola’ to make them feel better,” Cardi wrote earlier this week. “Mind you I didn’t debut number 1 because of my low radio play and WAP barely made radio cause it was so explicit yet still made number 1…. WHEN YOU START WINNING THE STORIES START SPINNING!!! Imma adress all the hate on my album tho wait on it !!!”
“Up” will be featured on Cardi’s sophomore studio effort, which she’s been hard at work on. “Since they like to make up LIES abut me cause their so obsessed just know this .. y’all laughing about this fake rumor but wait until y’all see these next collabs,” she tweeted with a winking emoji.
Her last team-up — “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion — was quite the knockout and made history on the Hot 100, with 93 million U.S. streams — the greatest-ever for a song in its first week of release — contributing to its No. 1 start on the chart.
