For the photocall of Anderson’s recently released movie “The Last Showgirl,” the “Barb Wire” talent donned an elegant floral-print, flowy dress. Designed by none other than fashion powerhouse Caroline Herrera, Anderson’s multicolored garment featured a bow by the collar, a prominent V-neck, long sleeves, buttoned shirt cuffs, and side pockets.
Allowing the dress to speak for itself, she only accessorized with diamond stud earrings and paired the outfit with skin-colored heels. She rocked a fresh face devoid of any traces of makeup apart from light lip gloss and left her blonde tresses loosely falling down her back.
The online reception Anderson received regarding this dress was not exactly warm and inviting. “What a frumpy dress!” criticized a Facebooker. Coming to Anderson’s defense, a fan responded, “[It’s] great stop the hate.”
However, the initial commenter replied, “[It’s] not hate it’s very unflattering on her she has a beautiful body and this dress does nothing for her!”
Tying in the fact that Anderson had no makeup on with their disdain for her flowery dress, another netizen opined, “[Needs] makeup, dress [makes] her look too old. I love Pamela but not like this… [Makeup takes] 3 minutes.”
“The floral is pretty, but the fit is wrong. Oversized looks slightly sloppy on her. I love slide 11 though. She looks so carefree and happy,” weighed in an observer who saw a Reddit post showing various photos of Anderson. Another Reddit user penned, “[The] flower thing looks like a lumpy housecoat.”
Aside from the heavily critiqued Caroline Herrera dress Anderson rocked, the “Baywatch” actress also sported a different gown to attend the premiere of “The Last Showgirl” during the same film festival. This one was a striking pale rose dress with a cape and a gold emblem by the chest area.
Dubbed the “Embellished caped gown” on the online store Mytheresa, the pink ensemble was designed by iconic Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab. Currently, it is selling for a marked-down price of $2,380 from $3,400.
Like she did for her floral dress, Anderson opted for minimal accessories. However, she switched things up with her hair, which was fashioned into what looked to be a classy bun and diagonal parting. She also adorned her face with bright red lipstick.
Yet again, social media platforms were set ablaze with reactions to Anderson’s pink garment. However, netizens appeared to be more receptive to the pink dress than they were to her floral one. “I love the pink. It looks great on her,” complimented a fan.
Agreeing with the aforementioned sentiment, another admirer echoed, “The pink gown is so pretty.” “[Wow] she looks STUNNING. I love this for her,” swooned a fan.
However, while most seemed to prefer Anderson’s pink gown over her floral one, there were still a few people who were unimpressed with both because of the way they thought the dresses made her look.
