Youtuber and boxer Jake Paul easily defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a fight that just ended in Arlington, Texas (USA).
The judges unanimously scored the fight 80-72, 79-73, 79-73 with the victory going to Paul.
At 58 years old, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson tried to push the pace in the opening round, but Jake Paul’s advantage in youth and speed was quickly exposed as he continuously attacked the former heavyweight champion with punches from a distance, while Tyson’s flexibility began to show signs of decline.
Mike Tyson faced almost no difficulty, but Paul with his steady power and clean, effective punches controlled the fight well.
A YouTuber turned boxer at age 27, Jake Paul, with an 11-1 record (7 knockouts), enters his match against Mike Tyson with three straight wins, since his only loss to Tommy Fury by split decision in February 2023.
On the other hand, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, who has a 50-7 win-loss streak (including 44 knockout wins), last stepped into the ring, facing Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match in November 2020.
But the Jake Paul fight marks his first official boxing match since June 11, 2005, after Tyson quit before the seventh round of his loss to Kevin McBride.
The fight between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and Paul is scheduled to last eight rounds of two minutes each. It was originally scheduled for July 20 but was postponed to late May after Tyson suffered a stomach ulcer while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.
Despite accepting defeat, Mike Tyson and young boxer Jake Paul each pocketed $40 million in prize money.
