Nate Diaz loves to stir things up, whether he’s in the Octagon or not. Though he’s not fighting in the UFC anymore, Nate was in Las Vegas to support his teammate. But things took a turn when he got into a heated exchange with Islam Makhachev backstage after the UFC 311 press conference.

Nate, who won his first boxing match earlier this year, left the UFC after his victory at UFC 279. While he’s hinted at returning to the UFC, he might focus on boxing, especially after seeing Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.

Nate has had a lot of tension with Khabib Nurmagomedov in the past, and this time, he took a shot at Khabib’s fighter, Makhachev, throwing a water bottle at him.

Things got heated between Nate Diaz and Islam Makhachev backstage after the UFC 311 press conference. As seen in this video by ESPN MMA, Diaz can be heard telling Makhachev to “pull up” before throwing a water bottle at him and his team. Security quickly stepped in to separate them before things got worse.

Makhachev was in Las Vegas to promote his UFC 311 fight against Arman Tsarukyan, while Diaz has been out of the UFC since his win at UFC 279. Makhachev, who defeated Dustin Poirier by submission at UFC 302 earlier this year, hasn’t commented on the incident yet.

As of now, neither Diaz nor Makhachev have addressed the altercation on social media. But it seems like things have calmed down, for now.

This isn’t the first time Diaz has had trouble with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team. In 2015, Diaz slapped Khabib during a confrontation, which sparked a long-running feud between them.
