Cardi B defended her decision to return to her fitness routine eight days after giving birth to baby No. 3 following criticism from a fan on social media.
“This is my third baby and postpartum is a little different from my first two… I’m not doing heaving lifting, no muscle straining, squatting none of that… just cardio,” the 31-year-old rapper wrote via X on Monday.
“Sometimes to avoid postpartum depression you gotta keep your mind busy and for me that’s work and staying active.”

Cardi sparked concern among fans after she shared videos of herself working out on a StairMaster just one week after she welcomed her third baby with her estranged husband, Offset.
“You know what’s funny?? Y’all dragged me down when I gained 15 pounds because I was 5 months pregnant but now yall fake concerned and wanna talk about pressure???” the Grammy winner continued in response to an X user who alluded to the “pressure women in the industry are under.”
The “WAP” hitmaker emphasized that she is taking the criticism personally following continued backlash for her looks.
“I’m taking this personal but its FOR ME because either way y’all are gonna have something to say,” Cardi added. Cardi B/Instagram

“Y’all said I was pregnant to avoid working now that you see I’m still at it it’s something else??” Cardi added. “So yeah I’m taking this personal but its FOR ME because either way y’all are gonna have something to say.”
Afterward, the fan expressed remorse and claimed that they had no “malicious intent” with the remarks about “snap back” culture in society.
“I do agree about society and pressure…I just was never the type to care about snap back after birth,” Cardi responded.
“I don’t know what it is about this time around but I have this burst of energy where I want to do EVERYTHING… It’s like I want to complete all my goals in one day.”
In Cardi’s video from Sunday, she was pictured walking on a Stair Master as she explained that she’s “not playing” when it comes to her gym routine.
The Bronx native shared via her Instagram Story that she’s been doing 30 minutes of cardio until resuming her regular sessions with her trainer.
“No heavy lifting, no weight just straight stair master until next week,” she wrote on the post.
She also told followers that her postpartum journey this time around was different from when she welcomed daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 3.

“With my other 2 babies I was still on bedrest on my first week postpartum,” she said.
Cardi welcomed all three of her children with the Migos rapper, who she filed for divorce from in August.
The on-and-off couple announced their newborn daughter’s arrival last week, six days after Cardi gave birth on Sept. 7.
