Up to this point, the big case of pedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein still causes shock every time it is mentioned. This billionaire was prosecuted for two crimes including leading a child prostitution ring and conspiracy to commit child prostitution. However, when everything was not yet settled, this billionaire committed suicide in prison, leaving behind a series of terrible scandals.
Mysteriously super rich
Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein grew up on Coney Island in Brooklyn. As a child, Epstein and his younger brother, Mark, were sheltered and raised in a middle-class family. From a young age, Espein showed great intelligence, he skipped two grades and graduated from high school at the age of 16. In 1974, Epstein became a calculus and physics teacher at Dalton School. However, this job only lasted for 2 years and he was fired due to “poor performance”.
After leaving teaching, he formed a relationship with one of his students’ parents, Alan Greenberg, CEO of Bear Stearns. From their first meeting, Greenberg was so impressed by Epstein’s acumen for numbers that he trusted him with a job as an assistant at Bear Stearns.
In 1981, Epstein left Bear Stearns and founded his own financial consulting firm, Intercontinental Assets Group Inc. (IAG). IAG’s main job was to help clients recover embezzled money and also assist them in “corruption”.
During this time, to cover up his illegal activities, Epstein told his friends that he was working as an intelligence officer. At first, some people were skeptical, but when they saw Epstein’s connections with powerful businessmen and his expensive trips around the world, they gradually believed what their friend said was true.
In 1988, Epstein founded J. Epstein & Company (later renamed Financial Trust Company), a wealth management firm for billionaires. During this time, Epstein became a financial advisor to billionaire Leslie Wexner, CEO of L Brands and Victoria’s Secret.
By the early 1990s, he moved his company to the Virgin Islands to avoid paying taxes. In the early 2000s, Epstein expanded his portfolio to include media sponsorships, developing securities sponsorships, and investing in hedge funds and startups. In addition, he also established his own non-profit organization to donate millions of dollars to universities including Harvard. It can be said that to this day, no one has discovered the true source of Epstein’s huge fortune, only knowing that he is a super-rich billionaire.
According to recorded information, in addition to being the founder of the asset management company Financial Trust, Epstein also owns 6 properties, including a private island in the US Virgin Islands. In addition, Epstein also owns two private machines and 15 cars registered in different states. Epstein is no stranger to powerful and famous people.
Epstein’s mansion on Little St. James Island in the Caribbean Sea is known as “Pedophile Island”. Little St. James Island has an area of over 7,000 square meters, located about 1.6 km southeast of St. Thomas and was purchased by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein more than 2 decades ago. This private island with a large mansion is just a part of the American billionaire’s huge fortune, along with luxury villas in Manhattan, New York and Palm Beach, Florida. This island is like an impregnable floating fortress.
Epstein later bought nearby Great St. James Island and hired some of the island’s workers to work for him. Employees on Epstein’s private island signed confidentiality agreements, but some reported seeing young girls, apparently underage, at Epstein’s mansion.
In Manhattan, Epstein lived in a $56 million mansion that used to be the Birch Wathen boarding school. The apartment had his initials on the door. Epstein also hired a white-gloved butler to serve tea.
In Florida, he also owns a Palm Beach villa worth more than 12 million USD. The American billionaire travels by private jet and has at least 15 cars, including 7 Chevrolet Suburbans.
Epstein does not drink, do drugs or smoke and asks those around him not to do so. Epstein practices yoga and showers several times a day. This man does not like to eat out, mainly eating whole grains, proteins and green vegetables…
The tycoon was described as an art collector, a frequent attendee at auctions, a vegetarian and a grand piano player. Epstein had a picture of 1980s TV star Morgan Fairchild in his Upper East Side home, whom he called his ideal woman, despite the fact that she was in her 50s at the time.
Billionaire Epstein, who is not married, is described as charming, humorous, but mysterious to the media. This man prefers to wear polo shirts, open the top buttons and jeans even at fancy parties – where attendees are required to wear formal suits. And Epstein is rich, that cannot be denied…
Remarkably, no one really knows how he made his money. There are many things about Epstein’s life that remain a mystery. He had no college degree, no license to be a financial intermediary, and his reputation as a financial “guru” seemed to have no concrete evidence beyond his connections to influential people.
It can be said that Epstein’s financial success depends on his wide network of relationships, which helps him host house parties where he can interact with scholars, politicians, financiers, royals and even beautiful girls…
Perverted pedophilia with girls aged 13-17
Billionaire Epstein was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on July 6, 2019 and charged with two crimes: organizing a prostitution ring and sexually abusing a minor. Epstein was arrested at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, shortly after returning from Paris on a private jet and taken straight to federal prison. Before that, federal agents broke down the door to enter his home to execute a search warrant.
The Nytimes called the case of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein “potentially the biggest scandal in American history,” following the shocking revelation of the American college admissions ring in March. This case is even more complicated as it involves a team of veteran prosecutors.
The investigation began when the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported Epstein to local police in 2005, the newspaper said. Other victims came forward soon after Epstein forced them to have sex. But in 2007, Miami prosecutors struck a secret deal with Epstein that allowed him to avoid federal prosecution.
According to a report in the Miami Herald in November 2018, Alexander Acosta, now the US Secretary of Labor, was part of a team of prosecutors who made a “lifetime deal” with Epstein. According to the newspaper, Acosta met privately and negotiated with one of Epstein’s lawyers, Jay Lefkowitz, at the law firm Kirland & Ellis, where Acosta was a partner. Ken Starr, another lawyer who worked for Epstein, also attended. After months of negotiations, Acosta’s prosecutor’s office did not prosecute Epstein on two charges including sexual abuse and prostitution of a minor. Instead of serving a life sentence, Epstein served only 13 months in prison, was placed on the sex offender registry, and was later released on bail.
The Justice Department has so far denied the 2007 agreement, arguing that prosecutors violated the Victims’ Rights Act by withholding information about the agreement from more than 30 unidentified people so they could object. The Justice Department’s office is investigating whether government lawyers committed wrongdoing in the Epstein case.
However, the sky’s net is vast, power and money cannot “silence” justice, according to the New York Post, this time billionaire Jeffrey Epstein is accused of luring about 30 girls aged 13 to 17 to visit his private villas in Manhattan, New York and Palm Beach, Florida for nude massages and sex. He also gave the victims several hundred dollars each if he recruited more girls of the same age into the network.
The indictment details Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking and lavish lifestyle. The indictment describes how Epstein “tried to recruit minors” and “knew many of his victims were under 18 because they had told him in advance.”
According to Florida court records, authorities said at least 40 underage girls were invited to Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion and turned into sexual encounters. He ordered his staff to bring local teenage girls to his home for sex. At least three of Epstein’s staff were directly involved, one based in New York, while two others were based in Palm Beach, Florida. They arranged the meetings and escorted the victims to a secret room in the house where Epstein was waiting.
According to the victims’ testimony, they were first asked to give Epstein massages, then to pose for nude photos, and gradually forced to perform sexual acts. “Behind the heavy wooden door, hundreds and thousands of nude and semi-nude photos and CDs were found hidden in the safe. These were images of young girls, some of them minors, who were victims of Epstein,” the prosecutor said.
The indictment revealed that Epstein used employees and associates to ensure a “steady supply.” The American billionaire used small change to lure and “recruit” minors into his network. Accordingly, each person would be paid a few hundred dollars if he lured more girls of the same age into his network. In this way, Epstein created a large network of victims to satisfy his sexual behavior.
The American tycoon was particularly fond of blondes, who exuded both royalty and innocence. The women of Epstein’s age group were not usually gold diggers. They were models, “Gucci bag girls,” free flights to Miami, or college graduates who didn’t care about the 30-year age gap. Some wanted to enter the world of private jets and international wealth. In later years, Epstein preferred Eastern European women.
David Boies, a lawyer for Epstein’s alleged victims, said there were two types of women of different ages involved with the American billionaire. “Some of the girls were minors, others were usually in their 20s. They became part of the sex trafficking ring and were often shared with others. Those who were of the age that Epstein liked, he would not introduce them to others,” said David.
Is Jeffrey Epstein dead?
Epstein has been held in federal prison since his July 15, 2019, hearing, without bail. However, while in custody awaiting trial, Epstein committed suicide in his Manhattan jail cell on the evening of August 9 and was discovered on the morning of August 10.
Epstein had previously attempted suicide on July 23 after a rope mark was found around his neck. Since then, authorities have closely monitored the billionaire and conducted daily psychological evaluations, but he was returned to his original cell a week later.
Epstein’s death has raised many questions because the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York has long been considered a top-security prison for holding special-monitoring inmates. Accordingly, the 12-story correctional center, built in 1975, was once home to notorious criminals such as Mexican drug lord “El Chapo” Guzman and mafia leader John Gotti. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the MCC has a capacity of 474 inmates, but at the time of Epstein’s death, it held 763 male inmates.
Conditions at the Metropolitan Federal Prison were a far cry from the luxurious life Epstein was accustomed to. Inmates described seeing large rats running around in their cells, air conditioning so loud it made it impossible to sleep, darkness and a lack of toilets. Drug lord Guzman once called it a “torture facility.” “I was forced to drink toilet water.
“The only light I saw was through the vents, day or night,” El Chapo said. The Metropolitan was “filthy, cold, and completely isolated,” with absurd rules like no newspapers until 30 days in. “The cells were cramped, damp, infested with rats and cockroaches,” Epstein said, according to the New York Times. Epstein hated his cell, which was just a few blocks from his sprawling $56 million mansion.
Like other prisoners, Epstein faced similar problems. Fearing he would be beaten by his fellow inmates, billionaire Jeffrey Epstein even transferred money to their bank accounts. There, Epstein emptied the vending machines and candy bars and barely spoke to anyone.
The billionaire also tried to escape prison at all costs, even paying a lot of money to many lawyers so that they could spend more time with him during visits. According to the Daily Beast, in his final days, Epstein ate his meals on the stone floor, constantly asked for more toilet paper, and lived “like a pig in a sty.” In his final days, Epstein stopped bathing, stopped shaving, and fell into a deep depression.
On August 13, law enforcement revealed that billionaire Epstein had apparently knelt on the floor and strangled himself with a homemade noose made from bed sheets. The billionaire was found “unresponsive.” Epstein was taken to the prison infirmary and then transferred to a hospital in Lower Manhattan, but died.
Despite being placed on suicide watch, a representative for the guards at MCC told CBS News that Epstein’s death was not surprising because the staffing levels were completely inadequate. Many guards worked more than 60 hours a week, leading to “overwork and mental exhaustion.”
The prison is so understaffed that guards from other prisons are offered $10,000 to work there, according to the AP. Guards sometimes work up to 16 hours a day. A source familiar with Epstein’s case said the guard supervising the billionaire worked overtime for five straight days, and another was forced to work overtime the day Epstein hanged himself.
The shortage of staff was exacerbated by a government shutdown in January when the White House and Democrats failed to agree on funding for a southern border wall. Prisoners staged a hunger strike over the loss of visitation rights.
According to the New York Times, billionaire Epstein was recently removed from suicide watch and moved to a special detention area, where he is under 24-hour surveillance and undergoes daily psychiatric evaluations. Two weeks ago, Epstein was found lying on the floor of his cell with wounds to his neck, apparently from a suicide attempt.
Two guards assigned to check on the inmate every 30 minutes were not on duty the night Epstein died. The billionaire was supposed to be housed with another inmate, but that person was reportedly transferred and no one was available to replace him.
The US Federal Prison Administration has declared that this was a suicide. However, many people in the public have doubts about this assessment. They have questioned exactly what important information Mr. Epstein had and why a suspect who was under suicide risk monitoring like him could end his life in his cell like that…
