After the fight, Tyson revealed that he had suffered a serious health crisis just months before the fight. “I almost died in June. I had eight blood transfusions, lost half the blood in my body and lost 25 pounds in the hospital,” Tyson shared on social media.

With extraordinary determination, Tyson worked hard to recover his health and continued to train. “I feel proud when my children see themselves standing for eight rounds with a talented young boxer,” he said.

Tyson’s biggest challenge in life

Tyson said the build-up to the fight had been the biggest challenge of his life. In June, he suffered a health scare when he suddenly vomited blood on a flight. “I asked the doctor, ‘Am I going to die?’ and the answer that worried me was, ‘We have options for you.'”

Tyson further revealed: “I lost 11 kg in 11 days. I couldn’t eat, only liquids. My health condition caused me to lose all flexibility and endurance.”

Despite his defeat in the ring, Tyson considered it a victory over adversity. “I never give up. If I can’t outlive my enemies, then I’ve made them my friends,” Mike declared eloquently.

The fight with Jake Paul created a historic match between two generations of boxers, and also a must-see demonstration of Mike Tyson’s mettle. For him, victory is not about defeating the opponent, but about surpassing yourself and inspiring the next generation.
