Preparing to return to the ring at the age of 58, Mike Tyson surprised fans with powerful punches.
Mike Tyson will return this weekend when he takes on Jake Paul. This is an exhibition match at a boxing event taking place in Dallas (Texas, USA). Recently, thousands of spectators were excited when Mike Tyson entered the ring during a public training session arranged by the organizers.
Fans in the stadium witnessed Mike Tyson’s powerful punches. Although not as fast as he was in his youth, the 58-year-old Mike Tyson still had powerful, decisive punches with his muscular arms.
“I was like, what the hell am I doing? Then I started training and I’m feeling great right now,” Mike Tyson said in an interview about preparing for his fight with Jake Paul.
Paul (born 1997, American) is known for his work as a content creator on YouTube. He is also a professional boxer with 11 fights (10 wins, 7 knockouts). Jake Paul competes in the cruiserweight division. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson is a heavyweight boxing icon.
During the open training session, Mike Tyson only punched his trainer’s hand pads. He recreated his infamous left hook and repeatedly pushed his trainer into the corner.
At 58, Mike Tyson’s ability to maintain the speed and power of his punches in consecutive rounds is still a question mark. Jake Paul, although not the world’s top boxer at the moment, also trains professionally and is 31 years younger than Mike Tyson.
‘If Tyson could have thrown one of those legendary punches right from the start, he could have finished the fight before Jake Paul’s Instagram live stream ran 30 seconds ,’ one fan commented on the video posted by the organizers.
