Following his exit from the Paris Olympics 2024, Rafael Nadal planned on participating in the US Open. However, he announced his decision to skip the season’s final Major a few days later. He also stated that he would return to the tour at the Laver Cup in September.

However, the Spaniard pulled out of the Laver Cup as well. While his on-court plans remain up in the air, he’s certainly enjoying his time away from the daily grind of the tour.

Nadal turned spectator a couple of weeks ago as he was spotted watching players compete in a Challenger tournament named after him. It was also held at his own academy in Manacor, Spain.

The 22-time Major champion was also present at the inauguration of the new Espacio Movistar building a few days ago. The architectural marvel in the heart of Madrid saw him brush shoulders with badminton superstar Carolina Marin, and CEO of Telefonica Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete.

While fans wait with bated breath for news of Nadal’s return to the tour, he’s clearly enjoying his transition away from the sport. His inactivity has only fueled the rumors of his impending retirement as well.
